We are under siege by the cicadas! As such, the kids and I took the dogs into the yard to explore and find some of the little buggers. Earlier in the day, my honey sizzled up a dozen or so and he and Thurston ate them. Gross. He said they tasted as great as they sound like they’d taste. Apparently Thurston wanted more. (Not apparently, he video-ed, and it happened.) Boys will be boys.
Blowing “faeries”
This face…OH MY GOD
Cannoli and Jude enjoying the grass (now that we finally have some growing there!)

Plucking cicadas and nymph shells from the branches.
Easter is one of my favorite holidays to photograph. The sweet little outfits that it seems every store releases for their spring collection — gah! be still my heart. This is one of the few times a year that manufacturers seem to remember that parents of little boys like their little boys to be handsome, too. As a mother of three boys, I don’t get to take advantage of all the poof and toile and ruffles and lace and pink and sparkle. But I do get newsboy hats and bowties and vests. And in an effort to stay semi-punkrock and let the boys be themselves, they get to wear Converse and new H&M army green hi-tops that don’t match…but do.
My boys <3
and I was offline for a short while. But I’m back in action to share these babies!
It was a really warm day a few weeks ago, so we were outside getting as much of it as possible. It was great!
It’s hard to take pictures of baby Jude when I’m carrying him around, so none of him…and Graham wasn’t home. But I was able to capture my middle children 🙂
I donated a family photo session to the Huntingtown Youth Club for their annual football Homecoming raffle. I had the pleasure of photographing these four lovely daughters,
their parents (how cute are they!?!?!) ,
and their children .
I’m a sucker for a dog, but two dogs !!!
I’m very very excited for 2013. Everything about it is going to be great — I just know it. It is now the time to reflect upon last year and all the many blessings it bestowed.
I think most noteworthy was the birth of my third little handsome man, sir Jude Redmund. What a wonderful boy he is already becoming! On the home front, I also adopted our little crazy Cannoli. Graham passed 2nd grade with straight A’s. Thurston turned 2 and is crazy and charming and witty wonderful.
Many, many loyal clients afforded me the opportunity to capture their moments for life. Jowe and Cara (finally!?!?!)were married. I have photographed them at least once a year for the last five years and it was great to see them make their final commitment to one another. Now they just need to have a little girl 😉 One of my nearest and dearest friends welcomed her second sweet-faced son baby Zachary and I was able to photograph him as a newborn as well as for the holidays. I love that family!
I learned many new things this year, including the staging of boudoir photos. That was fun, and I had some great volunteers for that. My business cards even proudly display the best butt shot I’ve ever taken — that isn’t of my little boys’ naked bums!
Thank you to each and every one of you for a stellar 2012 and I look forward to an even better 2013!!!

During the holiday season, it is easy to get caught in the hub of the season and forget there are some less fortunate that need our help. Here are two wonderful wonderful causes that will help the elderly and children locally!
